An anisotropic wet etch on a silicon wafer creates a cavity with a trapezoidal cross-section. The bottom of the cavity is a {100} plane (see Miller indices), and the sides are {111} planes. The blue material is an etch mask, and the green material is silicon. Several etchants commonly used to reveal the general structure of superalloys are listed in Table 2. Due to the excellent corrosion resistance of superalloys, most etchants work best by swabbing (use a light pressure) the specimen with cotton soaked in the etchant.

The main advantages of etchant systems are:• Demineralization and infiltration´s dentin quickly• They are not as sensitive to different moisture conditions of dentin• Hygienic application• Consistent and stable composition• Blue dye application for facilitation 18. High volumetric machining strategies for superalloy - DiVA
Part Number: ASTM94 or ASTM95 (all sizes) Relevant Use: Industrial use / Metal testing reagent . Manufacturer: Sturbridge Metallurgical Services Inc. 2017-11-07 Kalling’s No.2 Reagent (AKA Kalling’s etch, waterless Kalling’s) is a metallographic etchant for etching Ni-Cu, nickel-based superalloys, ferritic and martensitic 400 series stainless steels. This etchant will darken martensite, attack ferrite readily and etch austenite slightly. It will not attack carbides. Kalling’s 2g Copper Chloride 40ml HCl 40-80ml Ethanol: Useful etchant for superalloys and stainles steels as well as Ni-Cu alloys. Good for grain structure.
